Mission

Since its creation on January 1, 1973, the Texas Center for the Judiciary has served as the primary source of judicial education for all appellate, district court, statutory county court, probate, associate and retired and former judges covered by the Rules of Judicial Education.  The mission of the Texas Center is to promote judicial excellence by providing the highest quality judicial education to the judges of the State of Texas.  This mission is carried out on a daily basis through continuing judicial education programs, new judge mentoring programs, an innovative curriculum responsive to the needs of Texas judges, comprehensive faculty development, and the publication of Bench Books and online resources such as opinion alerts to ensure that Texas judges are well informed about recent developments in the law.

The Texas Center relies on judges, attorneys, law professors, legal experts and related professionals from across the nation to serve as faculty, panelists and facilitators at its judicial education programs.  The staff of the Texas Center consists of dedicated professionals who steadfastly support the mission of the Texas Center so that a qualified and knowledgeable judiciary and court staff may administer justice in Texas with fairness, efficiency and integrity.
