CRIMINAL JUSTICE CONFERENCE
Online Registration is CLOSED for this conference.
May 19-21, 2008
Omni Dallas Park West, Dallas
Many electronic discovery disputes are influenced by the fact that an object to be searched and seized is a computer or the data stored on it. This year's Criminal Justice Conference will help judges rule more confidently and settle those arguments by learning how Fourth Amendment analysis applies to electronic evidence. Participants will also choose three specialty tracks: Mental Health, What I Didn't Know I Didn't Know (the complexity of writs, pleas, and admonishments), and Specialty Courts: Dialogue, Discussion and Debate. Judges will also discuss the latest significant decisions from the U.S. Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal Appeals.

June 16 - 20, 2008

The Texas Center’s Professional Development Program (PDP) provides a plan for the professional education and development of persons employed as court coordinators, court administrators, and court managers. PDP also meets the educational requirements of Rule 6(a) of the Court of Criminal Appeals Rules of Judicial Education.
The program consists of a core curriculum sponsored by the Texas Center for the Judiciary and developed in conjunction with the Texas Association for Court Administration. During the month of June, qualified judges and experienced court coordinators provide education in topics such as caseflow management, leadership skills, ethics, criminal and civil procedure. PDP is a labor-intensive week-long program that includes more than 25 hours of
classroom instruction and incorporates the National Association for Court Management Core Competencies for presiding and supervising judges, court managers, and court administrative
staff. The Texas Center recognizes individuals who complete the prescribed curriculum and acknowledges their educational success. Additional professional development tracks are available to guide qualified individuals in planning for their future professional education.
