Updated Training Requirements Related to Family Violence

ALL District, County Court at Law , and Associate Judges who were on the bench on or before Sept 1, 2023 must complete the new FV training requirements by December 1, 2025.

There are NO EXEMPTIONS.

Bench date of Sept 1, 2019 or earlier

• Must complete 5 hours of FV training
• • 2 hrs of subsections (d)(11)-(12)
  • 1 hr of subsection (d)(13)
  • 2 hrs of any subsections

• Must complete 5 hours of FV training every 4 years thereafter

Bench date that falls between Sept 2, 2019 and Sept 1, 2023

• Must complete 12 hours of FV training
• • 6 hrs of subsections (d)(5)-(7)
  • 4 hrs of subsections (d)(8)-(12)
  • 1 hr of subsection (d)(13)
  • 1 hr of any subsection
• Must complete 5 hours of FV training every 4 years thereafter
