Eligibility & Registration

Attendance is limited to Texas judges and court staff (e.g. court coordinators) in the following courts:

  • District Courts
  • County Courts at Law
  • Probate Courts
  • Business Courts
  • Child Protection Courts
  • IV-D Courts
  • Appellate Courts

The following are not eligible to attend TCJ programs (with a few exceptions):

  • Magistrate judges may not attend conferences but are welcome to register for webinars.
  • Court staff who are NOT in a role similar to a court coordinator may not attend TCJ conferences, with the exception of the DWI Court Team Training. The DWI Conference invites all court staff in DWI courts to attend regardless of their role.

Find information about conferences on our Event List and submit payment if required. A confirmation email will follow.

If you see the message “Registration Not Available”, it means that registration for this conference is not available for your member type.

TCJ conferences are restricted by role and court type. For example, a court coordinator may not be eligible to register for a judges-only conference, or an associate judge or magistrate may not be eligible to register for the Annual Judicial Education Conference.

Receipts are available in your TCJ user profile under My Participation.

Travel & Lodging

TCJ uses a system called Resiada to manage hotel reservations. Do NOT contact the hotel directly.

  • After you click submit on your conference registration, a box will appear giving you the option to book your hotel room immediately in the group block.
  • If you choose to book later, check your email inbox for a message from [email protected] that includes a reservation link.
  • Alternately, you can look at your TCJ Profile and find the hotel reservation link under the My Participation tab.

Remember: rooms booked outside the block are not eligible for reimbursement.

Reservations are managed in a third-party system called Resiada. Confirmation emails will come from Resiada, with the subject line showing the conference name.

On the hotel cut-off date, TCJ will send the reservation list to the hotel who will then send a final confirmation email with a hotel-specific confirmation number.

TCJ does not block rooms for additional nights. If you wish to extend your stay, make a separate reservation with the hotel.

After the hotel cut-off date, you will receive a final confirmation email from the hotel. You can then contact the hotel directly to request both of your reservations are linked.

Note: the hotel will NOT have a record of your reservation until AFTER the cut-off date, so you must wait for the final confirmation email from the hotel before contacting them.

Until the cut-off date, all reservations remain in Resiada. The hotel will not have your reservation on file and cannot assist with changes until after the hotel cut-off date for your conference.

Check the conference website for the posted hotel cut-off date. If you need assistance with a reservation BEFORE the cut-off date, please email us.

Before the cut-off date: Use the link in your Resiada confirmation email.

After the cut-off date: TCJ sends reservations to the hotel on the reservation cut-off date. You will then receive a confirmation email directly from the hotel. At that point, contact the hotel directly for changes. TCJ cannot make changes after the cut-off date.

The hotel assigns your room type at check-in based on availability. You may request one or two beds, but requests are not guaranteed.

Hotels require a card at check-in for incidentals. They place a “hold” (the amount varies by hotel amenities). If you don’t charge anything, the hold will drop off in a few days — though your bank may take up to two weeks.

Tip: Do not use a debit card, as the hold may limit your access to funds during your stay.

If you have difficulty booking through Resiada or the link provided, please call TCJ for assistance.

Travel reimbursement policies vary by conference. It is recommended to check the conference you are attending for the specific reimbursement policy.

Please notify our office as soon as possible. All cancellations should be submitted in writing to [email protected].

After the hotel cut-off date (refer to the conference you are attending) you are responsible for canceling your own reservation directly with the hotel.

This depends on the conference. Please refer to the specific cancellation policy for the conference you are attending.

Timely cancellations free up space for other attendees and help us provide an accurate count for meals. If you are unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible.

Conference Materials

Course materials are available in the conference app, usually 5–7 days before the conference.
